| The first All Scotland Championships took place
in Edinburgh in 1984 attracting a total of 269 dancers.
After a second year in Edinburgh the championships moved
to Stevenston in Ayrshire for a year before moving to their present
location in Kilmarnock.
The All Scotlands are now one of the largest feiseanna
on the Irish Dancing callender, with over 1000 entries and
attracting more than 4000 visitors from all over the world.
This years Championships will take place in the Grand Hall
and Palace Theatre, Kilmarnock, on the weekend
of 10th, 11th & 12th October 2008.
This year we have managed to secure the Palace Theatre for the
whole weekend allowing us to keep the event more centralised and
enable more flexibility in setting a suitable timetable.
As the Championships are celebrating their 25th anniversary
we want to make this year special.
We have therefore added four new Championships
– U17 Men and Ladies and U20 Men and Ladies.
